Microsoft Office 365 Coming the end of May

Shortly after Memorial Day, DoIT will be rolling out Microsoft Office 365 to all faculty, staff and students. This will provide everyone with the ability to access Microsoft Office products directly through a web browser with the full functionality of traditional Microsoft Office. It will also provide everyone with 1 Terabyte of storage on OneDrive, Microsoft's cloud storage platform.

With Office 365 you can download the client to your machine like a traditional installation or run the program from within your browser. Its possible to store your documents, locally, on a network shared drive, or save either directly to OneDrive or to other cloud storage platforms like Box.

If you have been using Office 365 with your UMBC email address the only change you will notice moving forward is that we will be migrating to UMBC's single sign on so you will no longer have to keep a separate password. There will be a link directly off myUMBC and once you are logged into to any of UMBC's services you will automatically be logged into Microsoft Office 365.

We will be releasing final dates shortly along with links to a set of FAQ pages to help walk people through the different options and common settings within the program.
