Description

A recent national study of 35k students and 11k faculty at 100 U.S. institutions found that more than 70% of each prefer a hybrid/blended learning environment that mixes face-to-face and online learning. Yet, only 21% of UMBC faculty who participated in the same 2017 study agreed that "online learning helps students learn more effectively."

To explore these and other national findings -- and how they relate to teaching and learning at UMBC -- DoIT will host a "joint viewing" of an Educause Live! Webinar: The IT Experiences of Faculty and Students: 2017 ECAR Findings presented by the Educause Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR) on Thursday, November 30, at 1 p.m. in Engineering Room 102.

The ECAR webinar is free to anyone at UMBC under DoIT's institutional Educause membership. However, registration is required if you want to view this at your desk. If you just want to view it with UMBC colleagues, then come to the joint viewing in ENGR 102. Light refreshments will be provided, so myUMBC registration is appreciated to help us plan.
