Description

This Future Friday session shares the story and outcomes of a coordinated redesign of authentic assessments across multiple courses in an AI-rich environment. Rather than banning AI, The University of Akron established a shared set of expectations for responsible use and redesigned tasks to make learning visible through process evidence (drafts, decision logs, reflections, and brief defenses).

Session Outcomes

  • Identify design strategies for creating authentic assessments across multiple courses in an AI-rich environment.
  • Use process evidence to make student learning more visible and support academic integrity.
  • Apply student feedback and implementation lessons to inform assessment practices in your own courses or programs.

Senior Instructional Designer Steve Kaufman will highlight the design decisions that mattered most, implementation lessons from faculty and students, and emerging evidence of impact on student learning, quality of work, and academic integrity.
