Kerberos Upgrade

Kerberos upgrade Wednesday March 20th, 8:30am to 11am

On Wednesday March 20th starting at 8:30am DoIT will be upgrading our Kerberos environment.  This upgrade is being done to achieve audit compliance as well as overhaul an old system.  The outage window will last from 8:30am until 11am on Wednesday March 20th.  During this outage window both account creations and password changes will be offline but both services will resume once the upgrade is complete.  In the last 30 minutes of the upgrade, 10:30am to 11am, several services will be unavailable to the campus community.

Those services are:
  • GL Server Logins
  • Linux Lab Image Logins
  • AFS Logins
  • Anyone who has not migrated their email to Google (Users still on Cyrus)
  • Account Creations
  • Password Changes

It is important to note that anyone who has migrated their mail to Google will not experience any disruption during this upgrade.  All of the services listed above will be available for campus use until 10:30am on Wednesday March 20th and will be available again at 11am on Wednesday March 20th once the upgrade has been completed.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Technology Support Center at x53838.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and wish everyone a good spring break.
