Description
Join us for a full-day Digital Accessibility Summer Camp designed specifically for faculty! Through guided practice and collaborative activities, you'll learn best practices for digital accessibility for Blackboard course content as well as documents, presentations, images, and videos.
Objectives:
- Identify accessibility needs within your course materials using Ally in Blackboard.
- Create and remediate accessible course content, documents, and presentations.
- Develop effective image descriptions for instructional materials.
- Produce accessible videos with captions and transcripts.
- Construct an actionable plan for implementing accessibility improvements in your courses.
This immersive workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to create accessible digital course materials.
About the Summer Camp
- The schedule begins at 9 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. Lunch is provided. If you have any dietary requirements, please contact instructionaltechnology@umbc.edu by May 16, 2025.
- This event will take place in person in Engineering 102. Space is limited for personalized support and hands-on opportunities to practice.
- Please bring your own laptop with appropriate content to explore digital accessibility (images, documents, video).

This event will be facilitated by staff from Instructional Technology and Student Disability Services.
