Description

Whether you are beginning or continuing your journey to create, improve, or remediate accessible content, this session is designed to cut through the confusion and help you define your personalized action plan for digital accessibility.

Digital accessibility is more than just compliance; it is about ensuring every student can access and engage with your course materials effectively.

Faculty know they need to improve the accessibility of course materials, but can feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content or the technical process. This workshop focuses on practical, achievable steps that help you focus on implementing lasting solutions.

Participants will leave the session with a plan and clear, actionable next steps for putting digital accessibility into practice.

Session Objectives

  • Identify accessibility needs within course materials using a course accessibility report from Anthology Ally.

  • Apply remediation techniques to various digital content formats (e.g., documents, presentations) to improve accessibility scores.

  • Describe 3 easy fixes for creating or remediating PDF files to improve accessibility identified by Ally.

  • Construct an actionable plan for implementing accessibility improvements with supporting technologies  in your courses.

This session is open to all faculty and instructional staff. No prior accessibility experience needed.
