UMBC to Migrate from Panopto to YuJa by March 2026

New video platform offers captioning, quizzing, analytics

As part of a campus-wide upgrade to its video capture and media management tools, UMBC will begin transitioning from Panopto to YuJa starting this fall. The migration will run through March 25, 2026, when access to Panopto will be officially retired.

The move to YuJa offers a modern, integrated video platform that supports automated captioning, in-video quizzes, detailed analytics, course content sharing, and seamless integration with Blackboard Ultra.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to begin preparing for the change by identifying which content they want to migrate for future use. Workshops, consultations, and a dedicated YuJa help site will launch later this semester.

YuJa is not yet available to access. Information sessions will be scheduled about the project timeline, how faculty can pilot YuJa recording and content sharing, and other YuJa resources via myUMBC.
