DUO Multi-Factor Authentication Outage

We are aware of an issue affecting DUO Multi-Factor Authentication for some users. While certain authentication methods may still be working, others are experiencing intermittent or complete outages.


The DUO Service Provider is restoring service to full functionality as quickly as possible.


Impact:

  • Users may be unable to log in to certain UMBC services that require DUO authentication. There was an interruption in receiving codes via SMS and phone call.


Workarounds:

  • If you are able to log in using the DUO Mobile app (push notification), a remembered device, or a hardware token, please do so. DoIT encourages users to install the DUO application if they have not already done so.
