Adjunct Online Orientation to Blackboard – Online Event

Description
For adjunct faculty, getting started with Blackboard may feel overwhelming at times. During this 90-minute orientation, Instructional Technology staff will review the basics of getting started with Blackboard Ultra to ensure that your course is ready on the first day of the semester. Topics covered during this orientation include:
- Converting your Blackboard course shell to Blackboard Ultra
- Content
- Creating folders and modules
- Uploading content
- Externally linking to cloud storage
- Communication
- Adding instructor contact information and communication expectations
- Posting announcements and sending student emails
- Creating discussion boards (including student introductions)
- Gradebook
- Creating assignments
- Setting up a gradebook to match your grading schema
Additionally, adjunct faculty who are more familiar with Blackboard and want to learn about UMBC technologies will be enrolled in a self-paced, asynchronous course.
