According to the annual Educause study, Undergraduates and IT, students value checking grades more than any other function in a learning management system (LMS) like Blackboard. The two graphs below show the percentage of UMBC Bb courses that use the grade center and the correlation of grade center use with student academic outcomes in Academic Year 2013-14. These and other results will be shared as part of the Nov. 4 DoIT talk: “A Bird’s Eye View of Blackboard.”
