Getting Started with Microsoft Teams

Join our workshop as we explore Microsoft Teams and learn how to communicate, collaborate, and utilize our integration with Blackboard to create a seamless and interactive learning environment for your students. You will also discover how to leverage the advanced breakout room feature to facilitate more effective group discussions and activities.

The following topics will be covered:

  1. Accessing or scheduling a Microsoft Teams meeting for classes or office hours
  2. Controlling meeting settings and features, including accessibility options
  3. Interacting with participants using polls, Q&A, chat, and breakout rooms
  4. Recording, captioning, and transcribing a session, then distributing it to participants

This session is ideal for instructors new to Microsoft Teams or interested in using it for the upcoming term. The session will be facilitated by Ben Amudzi, Instructional Technology Specialist, and Ada Crutchfield, Instructional Design Specialist.
