Designing Flexible Ultra Tests Using Question Pools

Focus: Ultra Blackboard Course Only

Location

Online

Date & Time

November 18, 2021, 2:00 pm3:00 pm

Description

Instructors typically use question pools to create a database of questions they can reuse in multiple tests. The process for creating and deploying tests in an Ultra course is different than what you would do in an Ultra course, but you can still create an Ultra test using question pools and provide each student with a different version of the assessment.

In this session, we will explore a few of the options available to instructors when creating or selecting questions for a Ultra test.

Session Objectives
  • Compare question pool functionality in Original and Ultra courses
  • Review limitations of the current Ultra question pool format
  • Identify benefits of importing Original question pools into Ultra
  • Import a question pool in an Ultra course
  • Utilize the keyword search and filter criteria when building a test
  • Evaluate what you can and cannot do with a question pool before students begin an assessment
  • Grade and apply credit to questions after students begin an assessment
NOTE: This session focuses on tests in Ultra courses. If you are teaching in Original, please see this session.
