The HR Technical team works directly with Human Resources department to provide technical support for processing and reporting HR related data involving payroll, benefits and leave management. The staff oversees the HR Production system for major upgrade projects, fixes, enhancements, end-user training, report development, process oversight and general trouble-shooting. These systems are used to transact, post, calculate, reconcile, store, and report all HR activity of the university. UMBC works closely with the State of Maryland to support employee pay and benefits. The State is responsible for taking the gross pay information from UMBC and creating a pay check, handling direct deposit, and overseeing benefits.
