NDLW 2021: The Future of e-Learning at UMBC

In early November, UMBC celebrates National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) with a series of lunchtime conversations. Our theme, Life in a Hybrid World - Learning How to Flex, celebrates all the successes and challenges our campus community has experienced as we continue to adapt, teach, and learn together during the pandemic.

Join us on Friday, November 12th from 12 PM-1:00 PM for a lunchtime panel discussion on what e-Learning may look like at UMBC moving forward. We will be joined by Graduate Program Director Dr. Erin Van Dyke and Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Student Success Dr. Ken Barron, to discuss their perspectives of how the pandemic has impacted and transformed their work.

About our guests: 

• Dr. Erin Van Dyke is a Professor of the Practice and serves as the Graduate Program Director for UMBC's Health IT MPS program.  A proud UMBC alumna and member of the community since 2011, Erin’s professional experience includes program oversight and administration, research, evaluation, teaching, curriculum design, and stakeholder engagement in university and clinical environments. 

• Dr. Ken Baron is the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Student Success at UMBC, where he leads and manages academic advising practices as both an administrator and a practitioner. Ken has held diverse leadership positions at various institutions, including Emory University, The College of New Jersey, and The University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
