Informal DoIT Drop-Ins to Focus on Web-based Technologies
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) or Use Ours
Starting in January and subject to user demand, as well as support staff capacity, DoIT is going to experiment with offering regular, informal Drop-In consulting sessions that focus on one of the many web-based tools we support. Examples include the following:
- Blackboard
- Box.com
- Collaborate
- Google (Calendar, Drive, Gmail)
- FAQs
- RT (Request Tracker)
- Sites (web-based publishing)
Given variation in user needs and scheduling, the Drop-In format will be as follows:
- Orientation(5 minutes): A quick overview of what the tool does. If all you want is a demo, come early.
- Recommendations (10 minutes): 1-2 tips based on our observations from providing support for RT tickets and FAQs, as well identification of effective practices & practitioners.
- Q & A (40 minutes): This is your time. What do you want to know? What's a problem you'd like to solve or a new opportunity you'd like to explore?
All currently scheduled DoIT Drop-Ins can be found at doit.umbc.edu/events.
