Information about myUMBC outage on Monday February 20th

This morning around 9:10am we experienced a failure of several disk arrays on our central storage system. The arrays that failed affected several critical systems, including myUMBC and parts of the webmail environment. Service was restored to myUMBC around 10:30. There were some lingering issues affecting certain webmail users that were not resolved until 11:45. 

We are working to investigate exactly why this failure resulted in the type of outage it did and how we can prevent this type of outage in the future.
